Slow Fashion Week at Brighton Dome

This Saturday we celebrated Slow Fashion Week at Brighton Dome by taking part in the Sustainable Marketplace, and what a success it was! It was so beautiful to be surrounded by so many likeminded people and makers. As our very first in-person event, it felt extra special to finally be part of something bigger.

Studio In Progress Sustainable Marketplace Stall selling handmade bags

Running a one-person business can feel isolating at times. I spend hours making products in my living room, and they often sit there for months before they find a home. Some days it’s hard to believe that anyone would want to buy them. But days like this remind me that people do. It seems it would pay off to have just slightly more self belief.

Small handmade pouches made from upcycled fabric

Not only was it inspiring to be out and about, but we actually sold products too! It was great to see what customers are gravitating toward, and it seems clear that you’re loving the smaller pouches rather than the bigger bags. A bit of unexpected market research, but one I’m excited to take forward.

Thank you to everyone who came out and said hello to us at the stall. And thank you to Katya for giving up your Saturday to run the stall with me <3
