Notes On Our First Year

This was the year I launched my business, and I am so grateful to see all the hard work finally out in the world and paying off. I tested, refined and created two products that I adore, and have solidified the foundation of Studio In Progress as a business that creates functional products from materials that already exist.

We sold online through our website, Instagram DMs and at our in person events, reaching friends, family and beyond. I experimented with so many different styles of bags and pouches, repurposing secondhand tents, vintage curtains/table cloths, and deadstock fabric, into new and usable products

This last month has given me a lot of clarity on what I actually want to be making, and what I should be focussing on coming into the new year. Instead of spreading myself too thinly, I’m going to be working on fewer things, but doing them very well. So don’t expect our product list to be growing too much.

But what you can expect is a whole new load of beautiful reclaimed materials that I’ll be working with. And a few new, carefully considered and well crafted products. And lots more slow making.

Thank you to everyone who has supported the business, it genuinely means so much. Now is time for a short rest and reset, but the ideas are flowing and I will get back to making very soon.
