Making In Progress: Let’s make a new bag
Recently I’ve been feeling the need for more experimentation, more freedom in the studio and new designs. The creative conception energy has been stronger than the desire to re-stock.

I wanted to create something small but big enough for daily essentials, poppers for easy access, and a simple, no-fuss design.
The ingredients for this bag were a vintage sourced duffle bag as its base, incorporating a 1940s strap, vintage webbing and a buttonhole off-cut from an old army liner jacket. Even the thread was sourced second-hand in a charity shop.

The canvas is soft to the touch but very tough, the strap is faded and worn but still incredibly strong and the inside is finished with French seams, so the overall theme of this bag is durability. As always, making products with materials that already exist is reward enough, but creating something that will last a very long time is the goal of Studio In Progress.
